The Charity

Goodwill Industries International, like most charitable organizations, started off small.  It was founded in 1902 (and at the time called Morgan's mission) by Rev. Edgar J. Helms, pastor of the Morgan Methodist Chapel in Boston, MA.  The original intent of Helms was to start an urban ministry, of collecting items from the wealthier homes in the city of Boston, then hiring people to repair those items then distribute them to the poor, survives to this day.  On its 100th anniversary in 2002, Goodwill Industries announced their 21st Century Initiative, with the goal of adding 20 million people to the workplace by 2020.

The Song

"Winter Waltz" is a gentle, snowy waltz, albeit a waltz written by a guy who has always seem to have had two left feet.  November, December, and January are always the "slowest" times of the year around here, so I thought it appropriate to end this trilogy of songs with one that approaches something like a waltz.
